If there’s a band I must recommend seeing live, it’s definitely Alt-J. On Sept. 19 – the second night of their show since their first night was sold-out – the British band played at the 9:30 Club to another sold-out crowd. Their opener, Lord Huron, was good at warming up the audience but even so, people were absolutely restless to see the main act.
Though their interaction with the audience was pretty minimal – no long-winded stories or chatty moments – they were still friendly and so engaged with their own music that the crowd was swept along as well. The singing was tight and strong and the instruments were in-tune and sweeping, creating a space that made it seem as if the club was the only place that existed during those short hours.
