Every semester, American University has a few free concerts on campus. The concert series for the fall 2012 semester started off with Chiddy Bang and Hoodie Allen, rappers that are pretty popular amongst the college communities. I volunteered to help set up and got to watch from the side of the stage where there was plenty of interaction between me and Chiddy (I’d like to think he was vibin’ with me but that’s probably just my imagination). It was a packed house and both Hoodie – who opened the show – and Chiddy were energetic and on point, equal parts interacting with the crowd and outperforming their albums. Hoodie Allen’s latest EP, All Americanand Chiddy Bang’s debut studio album, Breakfast, are all out now.
